Rick and Cass have been creating in Austin since 2010. They met in 2012 while working together at Apple, both in their early 20s and freelancing on the side. By 2017, they started dating—already deep into their careers as full-time photographers, and, as the story goes, crushing on each other’s Instagram posts long before making it official.

In 2023, they opened Good Friend Studio out of a desire to create a homebase. A safe, welcoming space for themselves and their community to make, meet, host clients, and share ideas.

Good Friend was created to fill the need for a go-to space for shoots, hangs, and deep work: a creative environment designed for photographers, filmmakers, and artists to explore, collaborate, and bring ideas to life.

What they love most is seeing creatives fully embrace everything the studio has to offer—from the space itself to the energy, gear, and opportunities for connection. It’s more than just a studio; it’s a place to meet like-minded people, create freely, and be part of something bigger.
